I am honoured to be chosen as Captain of Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club for 2024 and am looking forward to representing the club over the next 12 months. On behalf of the Members I would like to warmly welcome all visitors to the club, whether it be for golf, a social event or a business meeting.
Our parkland course has a good variety of holes and offers a test for all golfers. Non members can enjoy playing the course as part of a society, during open competitions, or have a casual round.
Members and visitors are well looked after in the clubhouse. The bar is run by Emma and her team, with catering being provided by Clare Chapman Catering. These facilities are enjoyed after a round of golf and as part of the busy diary of club social events. The clubhouse can also be hired for private functions by members and non members alike. Our Club Manager Garry and the office staff can provide the details, in addition to information on joining the club or on playing the course as part of a society or as an individual.
Our Club Professional Peter and his assistants have a wide range of golf equipment in the shop and have a multi media Swing Studio available for tuition, along with the option of on course lessons.
All sections of the club (Men, Ladies, Seniors and Juniors) have regular competitions during the year and new members would be given a warm welcome. The Men have competitions every week (weather permitting!) and lively banter after the round. The Ladies section will assure a warm, relaxed and informal welcome to all new members. The Ladies section has grown vastly over the last couple of years and offers an exciting social side as well as excellent golf opportunities/competitions.
