Membership Introduction

Founded in 1902, Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club is a private members club recognised for its friendly atmosphere providing a positive and welcoming environment for male and female golfers of all ages and abilities.

We have an active membership and our mens, ladies and junior sections offer a full schedule of competition fixtures aimed at players of all standards.  The variety and number of opportunities to play competitions, inter-club matches and social golf is something of which we are proud.

Members enjoy many benefits from joining Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club:

  • Playing on a great golf course which is rarely closed due to bad weather;
  • Gaining and maintaining an official CONGU handicap;
  • The opportunity to play in club competitions including stablefords, monthly medals, mixed foursomes, social golf, winter league and much more;
  • Full use of the clubhouse and facilities which include discounted drinks at the bar, a wide variety of food options and regular social events;
  • Opportunities to represent the Club in matches against other local clubs, not only in golf but also in snooker and domino leagues;
  • Competition tee-times can be booked in person and online, with interactive results and advanced membership communication;
  • Reciprocal arrangements with many other local clubs where members can play at greatly reduced green fees.

Annual subscriptions can be paid by cash, cheque, debit card, credit card or standing order in instalments.
